A store wide liquidation sale at Citrus Heights' Orchard Supply Hardware is underway.
The clearance sale, that started Saturday, is expected to continue through to mid-August, a call to the San Juan Avenue and Greenback Lane store confirmed.
The Citrus Heights store is closing following the bankruptcy filing by San Jose-based Orchard Supply Hardware Stores Corp in June. Also in June, Reuters reported that a Lowe's store may replace 91 OSH stores, including possibly the local location.
The Sacramento Bee reports liquidation sales are occurring at seven other stores in California -- Antioch, Fairfield, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Newark and Vacaville.
A Business Wire story reports that Great American Group, Inc. has been selected to manage the asset liquidation at the eight stores. The court has given Orchard Supply the option to hold liquidation sales at another 22 stores before July 31, 2013.
