“When I lost my grandson due to the failure of government agencies to properly notify my family when a convicted child abuser was released from prison, I worked hard to change California law to ensure that this tragedy wouldn't affect another California family again and was proud to have Dustin’s law passed and signed into law by then Governor Gray Davis.
"Government agencies at both the county and state level have the ability to flag certain people and ensure that the children of those families are not abused or put in danger, but they can only do that if they are properly notified. I worked with Assemblyman Curt Hagman (R-Chino Hills) on AB 2435 in order to build upon Dustin’s Law and Dustin’s Law 2 in an effort to further protect our children.
"As a victim of crime, I want to ensure that our government agencies and programs do as much to support California families as it should to protect the most vulnerable among us — our children. I am committed to continuing the work I started with the loss of my grandson to ensure that all adequate steps are taken to keep children safe.”
