FREE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHW) DROP-OFF EVENT FOR CITRUS HEIGHTS RESIDENTS

THE FIRST OF THREE (3) FREE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHW) DROP-OFF EVENTS! The City of Citrus Heights and Republic Services are hosting a FREE HHW drop-off event to help you properly recycle and dispose of your unwanted household hazardous waste. It is a safe and convenient way to protect our environment. APPOINTMENTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED, but not required. Please call (916) 631-0600 or (916) 638-9000 to schedule an appointment or for more information. This program is for Citrus Heights residential customers serviced by Republic Services only. PROOF OF CITRUS HEIGHTS RESIDENCY (such as a recent bill) IS REQUIRED FOR THE EVENT. Please, no commercial customers or businesses. ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS: household chemicals, household cleaners, acids, automotive fluids, pesticides, vehicle batteries, gasoline, paints, solvents, fluorescent lamps/tubes UNACCEPTABLE MATERIALS: ammunition, explosives, pharmaceuticals, radioactive material, household batteries*, home-generated sharps*, used oil* *Used motor oil, household batteries, and home-generated sharps are no longer being accepted at the HHW Drop-Off events. Citrus Heights residents can recycle and properly dispose of these items through home and curbside collection provided by Republic Services.
