CLAREMONT, CA — Claremont has begun a citywide project to update speed limit signs and pavement markings based on the city's 2026 Engineering and Traffic Survey, the city announced on Wednesday.
The Citywide Speed Survey Implementation Project includes installing new speed limit signs and replacing existing signs and pavement markings as needed.
The project is expected to take about three weeks to complete, the city said.
Once the new speed limit signs are installed, they will be covered until enforcement of the updated limits begins.
After the project is completed, the Claremont Police Department will implement a 30-day warning period before issuing citations under the new speed limits.
The city said it will provide additional notice before enforcement begins.
