CLAREMONT, CA — Claremont Hills Wilderness Park has reopened after concerns about Tropical Storm Rachel prompted its temporary closure, the city announced on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, just before 9 a.m., the city announced the park's reopening.
The closure was intended to protect visitors and minimize potential damage to the park's trails and natural resources during the storm, the city announced on Sunday.
The city said weather conditions from Tropical Storm Rachel could create hazardous trail conditions, including fallen trees, flooding, slippery surfaces, muddy terrain, reduced visibility and increased runoff.
No additional information was immediately available.
