CLAREMONT, CA — The City of Claremont and American Legion Keith Powell Post 78 will host the annual Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11 at Memorial Park to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, the city said.
The annual ceremony will bring the community together to recognize military service members and honor the contributions of those who have served in the nation's armed forces.
As part of this year's observance, the city is inviting local businesses to offer special discounts, promotions or giveaways for veterans and active-duty military personnel, the city announced on Monday.
Participating businesses will be recognized on a flyer distributed during the ceremony and mentioned in the mayor's remarks, according to the city.
The initiative aims to recognize military service while giving local businesses an opportunity to show their appreciation for veterans and active-duty service members.
Businesses planning special offers for Veterans Day are encouraged to participate by sharing information about their promotions with the city.
To participate, local business owners should email specialevents@claremontca.gov with their business name, special offer, discount or giveaway, requirements or conditions for redeeming the offer, and valid dates for the offer, the city said.
