Armed Security Guard Shoots Suspect At Super King Market In Claremont: Police
A Super King Market security guard fired multiple shots at a suspect seen breaking into cars, police say.

CLAREMONT, CA — A shooting at Claremont's Super King Market injured one on Tuesday according to Claremont police.
"On February 7, 2017, at approximately 8:45 p.m. Claremont Police Department Dispatch received numerous calls of a shooting that just occurred in the parking lot of the Super King Market located at the 400 block of Auto Center Dr.," Claremont Police Department Sgt. David Hardin said. "When officers arrived at the scene, they found a subject down in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds."
Officers learned that an employee at the location reported to a security guard that a male suspect was attempting to break into their vehicle.

"When the security guards confronted the suspect in the parking lot, a confrontation occurred and one of the security guards who was armed fired several shots, wounding the suspect," Hardin said. "The suspect was treated at the scene by LA County Fire and paramedics, and then transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No one else was injured and the investigation is on-going, according to the police report.
