Arrest Made in Latest Pomona Shooting
Lawrence Adger, of Pomona, was arrested for a shooting on Thursday. It was the third shooting in as many days, authorities said.

A man was in custody today in a shooting in Pomona that left another man hospitalized with multiple wounds, police said.
The third shooting in as many days in the city happened about 9:40 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of North Caswell Avenue, said Pomona police Lt. Joann Guzek.
Lawrence Adger, 22, of Pomona was arrested a short time after the crime, and was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, Guzek said. Adger was held on $500,000 bail, and a court date was tentatively scheduled for Monday in Pomona, the sheriff's department reported.

The wounded man was hospitalized in stable condition, and was expected to survive, Guzek said. His name was withheld. The motive for the crime was unknown, Guzek said.
The victim was shot across the street from where a candlelight vigil was being held for the victim of an earlier fatal shooting, Pomona police Sgt. Brian Hagerty said.

At least 10 people were present at the vigil, Hagerty said. The vigil was held for Covan Brady, 25, of Pomona, who was killed several blocks away in an early morning shooting on Wednesday.
Thursday's shooting was the latest in a wave of gun violence to hit the city.
Charles Patrick Cooper, 32, of Pomona was shot to death and a companion wounded, in a separate shooting Tuesday night.
