Arrests Made In Hot Prowl Burglary: Claremont PD

They crept inside while people were sleeping, stealing electronics, a wallet and other personal items. Now, the suspects are behind bars.

CLAREMONT, CA — While the residents inside were sleeping, prowlers broke in during the night of Tuesday, January 16, sometime during the night suspects entered the victim’s residence located in the 100 block of American Ave., in Claremont.

The suspects gained entry into the residence through an unlocked door while the resident was asleep, according to Claremont Police. They stole electronics, a wallet and other personal items.

"Through investigative means, the Claremont Police Department Detective Bureau was able to identify the suspect(s) related to this case," Claremont Police Department Sgt. David De Metz said. "The male suspect was on active Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) through LA County."

On January 18, 2018, Detectives from Claremont PD along with Detectives from the AB 109 Task Force responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Second Ave., in Pomona and conducted a probation search, which resulted in locating stolen items related to the burglary. At the time of the search, the suspect(s) were not home and an apprehension WANT was placed in the Los Angeles Countywide System.

"Later that night, the suspect(s) were contacted and arrested by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for an unrelated investigation," De Metz said. "Claremont PD Detectives responded and took custody of the suspect(s) for the burglary committed in Claremont."

Both suspect(s) were booked at the CPD Jail where they were held for bail/court. Sigfredo Arias Jr, 40 years-old from Pomona, was booked for residential burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools. Jennifer Camara, 43 years-old from Pomona, was booked for possession of stolen property.

Arias and Camara are being held at the Claremont Police Department Jail pending their scheduled court appearance.
