Authorities Reveal the Threat Made Against Local School

Palomares Academy of Health Sciences was evacuated May 6 after the school received a threat.

A bomb threat that turned out to be unsubstantiated prompted administrators to evacuate the Palomares Academy of Health Sciences in Pomona today so police could search the school.

After the threat was received about 9:15 a.m., students were moved to Pomona High School, where they were picked up by a parent or guardian.

The Palomares campus at 2211 N. Orange Grove Ave. was thoroughly searched, and no explosives were found. The all-clear was given by 2:44 p.m., according to the Pomona police watch commander's office.
