Automatic Handguns Seized At Claremont Motel
Fully automatic handguns with high-capacity magazines were seized during a raid at a Claremont Motel Tuesday.

CLAREMONT, CA —A 21-year-old Norco man drew suspicion when he was fiddling with a large "bulge" in his waistband that turned out to be the handle of a fully automatic handgun, police said.
The man wearing fully automatic weapons were found at a Claremont Motel 6 on Tuesday during a raid that was conducted at approximately 1 p.m.
The motel was located in the 800 block of South Indian Hill Boulevard, near the Pomona border according to police.

"Members of a task force made of investigators from the Pomona, Claremont, El Monte and San Gabriel police departments, as well as the Los Angeles County Probation Department, were in the lobby of the motel when they saw a man with bulge in his waistband that he was manipulating suspiciously," police said.
He was packing a handgun that was illegally altered to be fully automatic and loaded with an illegal 30-round magazine, police alleged.

Investigators also found another such handgun and several other loaded high-capacity magazines.
Augustin Malagon was arrested at the scene and was booked on suspicion of possession of a loaded firearm and possession of high capacity magazines, police said.
