Boys Scouts Recognized For Their Eagle Scout Projects In La Verne
Owen Arbogast, Joseph Harvey, Dallas Lopez and Alex Sawabini were recognized during Monday night's city council meeting.

LA VERNE, CA — La Verne City Council recently honored several local Boys Scouts for their Eagle Scout projects.
Owen Arbogast, Joseph Harvey, Dallas Lopez and Alex Sawabini were recognized during Monday night's city council meeting.
Arbogast and Harvey will face their Eagle Board of Review later this month. Meanwhile, Lopez and Sawabina, who were recently promoted to Eagle Scouts, were commended for their recent projects that involved improvements to Veterans Hall and Heritage Park.

- Owen Arbogast is a senior at Bonita High School. He joined Troop 411 in Dec. 2014 and held the following leadership positions as he advanced in rank: Patrol Leader, Chaplain Aid, Quartermaster and Senior Patrol Leader. He has camped 83 nights and earned 38 merit badges. Owen’s Eagle project was designing and supervising the building of a mobile work station for Heritage Park. He used old wood and hardware so the work station would fit the time period of Heritage Park. Volunteers use the station for special events and during school field trips to the Park. In November, Owen will have his Eagle Board of Review and become an Eagle Scout.
- Joseph Harvey is a senior at San Dimas High School. He joined Troop 411 in Jan. 2015 and
held the following leadership positions as he advanced in rank: Patrol Leader, Librarian, Troop Guide, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. He has camped 82 nights and earned 26 merit badges. His Eagle Project was planning and supervising the planting of roses and adding mulch along the west wall Veterans Hall and installation of a drop box where citizens can deposit old flags to be retired properly. Joseph will also have his Eagle Board of Review and become an Eagle Scout in November. - Dallas Lopez is a senior at San Dimas High School. He joined Troop 411 in Jan. 2015 and held the following leadership position as he advanced in rank: Den Chief, Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. Dallas has camped a total of 146 nights and earned 52 merit badges. His Eagle Project was planning and supervising the removal of grass, laying a concrete pad and then building and installing 2 picnic tables on the west side of Veterans Hall that can be used by Veterans as they wait for meetings or activities. Dallas had his Board of Review and became an Eagle Scout on July 13, 2021.
- Alex Sawabini is a freshman at Damien High School. He joined Troop 411 in Feb. 2018 and has held the following leadership positions as he advanced in rank: Patrol Leader and Instructor. He has camped 20 nights and earned 33 merit badges. For his Eagle project Alex designed, planned and supervised the installation of a new sign on Wheeler Avenue for Heritage Park and the installation of lights on the sign. You can now see the sign at night. Alex had his Board of Review and became an Eagle Scout on July 14, 2021.
