BYE-BYE, BCS!

Thoughts and musings about the death of the BCS, wondering why Bo Jackson did not suit up for the Auburn Tigers:

That cheering you heard at the end of Monday's night's was not because Florida State finally snapped the SEC's stranglehold on the National Championship of college football.  It was because, beginning next January, we will finally get the college football champion crowned on the field...where it deserves to be crowned.

Beginning, January 2015, a four-team playoff will happen.  The four teams will be selected by a panel of "so-called" experts.  Don't know what criteria they will consider, but why not just take the four major bowl winners (Rose, Orange, Sugar and Fiesta) and seed them according to strength of schedule.

The winners of those two games would then meet for the Championship.  The only caveat is that a "ringer" like Central Florida or Baylor, could sneak into the championship game.  Would we want to see one of those two teams, or a matchup like Florida State versus Alabama?

We shall see how this new system unfolds.  One thing is certain:  You can't please all of the people all of the time!
