The CLAREMONT YOUNG MUSICIANS ORCHESTRA (CYMO) will present its 2025-26 season Finale Concerts on Sunday, May 31, at Bridges Hall of Music, Pomona College, 150 E. Fourth Street, Claremont.
The 7:00 PM concert will feature 90 musicians in the advanced level Claremont Young Musicians, conducted byJorge Padrón. The program will include the Overture to “Candide” by Leonard Bernstein and Symphony No. 1 by Mahler. The concert will also present the winners of the CYMO 2026 concerto competition, Ninah Chan and Dallas Chu, performing the Barber Cello Concerto and the Korngold Violin Concerto.
The May 31st, 2:00 PM concert, will feature the Claremont Young Musicians Intermezzo Orchestra, a 75-member preparatory group for the CYMO, conducted by Greg Samuel, and the Overture String Orchestra, conducted by Wendy Waggener. Selections will include Danse Macabre by Saint-Saëns, Overture to the Merry Wives of Windsor by Nicolai, Congo del Fuego Nuevo by Arturo Marquez, and much more.
Admission is free for the CYMO concerts on May 31. Doors open at 6:30 PM for the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra (CYMO) concert and 1:45 PM for the Intermezzo Orchestra and Overture String Orchestra concerts.For information: rjscymo@aol.com, cymo.org. (909) 624-9553
