Transcendent landscapes of Finland fill the mind’s eye as Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5 takes the listener through an epic musical journey. Faculty soloist Kira Blumberg portrays La Llorona, the “crying woman” of Latin American mythology, in Gabriela Lena Frank’s tone poem for viola and orchestra.
