Candidates Race to Earn Spots on Claremont School Board

It's election day. Five people are running for the Claremont Unified School District.

Today’s election means Claremont residents have an opportunity to choose three board members to the Claremont Unified School District.

Steven Michael Llanusa, Governing Board Member, Claremont Unified School District is again running for his seat. The other incumbents, Mary Caenepeel and Jeff Stark, who’s terms are up in December, have opted not to run for reelection, according to the Claremont Courier.

Llanusa will face off against David Nemer, retired teacher, Nancy Treser Osgood, college administrator, Joseph Salas, teacher/county lifeguard and Paul A. Steffen, real estate broker.

County election polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The county registrar warns that some local cities conducting separate municipal elections may close polls at 7 p.m. Always check your sample ballot booklet to verify the correct election poll hours.
