Capriotti's

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, located in Glendora, is dedicated to making quality sandwiches. Unlike other sandwich shops, Capriotti’s staff roasts turkeys daily to ensure freshness-- a refreshing change from sodium filled deli meat. The hand pulled turkey is most commonly used in the shop’s specialty, “The Bobbie”. The Bobbie is Thanksgiving in sandwich form. A carb lover’s dream, it’s bread on bread and  each bite gives you a mouthful of flavors. The white bread (or wheat if requested) is filled with turkey, cranberry sauce, mayo, and stuffing. It’s a mix of savory tinged with a hint of a sweet-tang from the cranberry sauce. Since Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays (because of the food), I was instantly a fan after the first bite.

There are plenty of other sandwich selections on the menu, which also includes vegetarian and kid options. Don’t like mayo? No problem. Any sandwich can be customized to your liking. Sandwiches come in 9”,12”, and if you’re especially hungry, 20” size. It’s not a “$5 footlong”, but for the high quality of the ingredients, and delicious taste, it’s well worth paying a couple dollars extra.

Don’t leave without grabbing one of Becky’s Bundt Cakes, delicious baby sized bundt cakes in a variety of flavors including marble, chocolate, peanut butter, and vanilla. Since it happened to be a special occasion for my group, I was lucky enough to taste 3 bundt cakes: chocolate, red velvet, and carrot cake. The red velvet and carrot cake were especially moist and flavorful. 

I loved it so much, I went back the next day and ordered another Bobbie. As long as Capriotti’s is around, I can have my own Thanksgiving feast any day of the year.
