Halloween is right around the corner and with a little preparation, you can be sure your family has a safe and fun evening. While there will not be any City-sponsored events or activities in the Village on Halloween, we expect the Village and surrounding areas to be busy with trick-or-treaters and partygoers.

The City offers a few tips on staying safe this Halloween.

  • Make sure children are accompanied by an adult.
  • When walking, stay on the sidewalk, look both ways, and cross at intersections.
  • Apply reflective tape to your child’s costume or use glow sticks for better visibility.
  • Map out your route ahead of time and carry a flashlight with you.
  • When driving, be extra cautious, avoid distractions, and drive slowly.
  • Don’t drink and drive; plan ahead and designate a driver or call for a sober ride.

Be aware of your surroundings. Call 9-1-1 if you see dangerous or suspicious activity. While there will not be any City-sponsored events or activities in the Village on Halloween, please drive carefully as we expect the Village and surrounding areas to be busy.
