On May 27, Mr. Shelley was honored at the 56th Annual Older Americans Recognition Day Event, hosted virtually by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors. Mr. Shelley was selected for recognition in part due to his contribution of 300+ volunteer hours during the height of the pandemic. In this role, he supported the Ranger team with implementing an array of re-opening guidelines in adherence with Los Angeles County public health orders. His efforts during this time helped keep the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park open and safe for park visitors when open space was especially critical to the well-being of the public.
In addition to his Reserve Ranger contributions, Mr. Shelley has devoted his time to several other local organizations including the Rotary Club of Claremont, Claremont Senior Bike Group, and Mt. Baldy’s Ski Patrol Program. We thank Mr. Shelley for his dedication to the health and safety of the community he serves.
