City Of Claremont: Sandbags Available At Local Fire Stations

With the potential for rain in the forecast, the City and Los Angeles County Fire Department have partnered together to provide Claremont residents with access to sandbags. When properly filled and placed, sandbags have the ability to redirect storm and debris flows away from homes and improvements. Bags, sand, and shovels are now available at Fire Stations 62, 101, and 102. Sandbags should be filled ½ full and tied at the top so the bag will lay flat when put in place. To create an effective barrier, sandbags should be put flat on the ground, overlapped in a stair stepped pattern, and tamped into place.
