On Thursday, August 19 and Friday, August 20, the Pomona College contractor will be bringing in oversized load construction equipment to their jobsite. The transportation of these oversized loads will require the full closure of Sixth Street, between College Avenue and Amherst. All traffic looking to use Sixth Street will be detoured to Claremont Boulevard and College Avenue. In order to accommodate freeway oversized load restrictions, the Thursday and Friday closures will take place between 4 am and 10 am. The Claremont Colleges Campus Safety Department will be on site to assist with traffic control and to address any safety issues. During this closure, the public is reminded to follow the appropriate construction signs and be aware of the posted signs and detours. Questions regarding this project can be directed to Rains Expansion Project Manager Brian Faber at (909) 607-5086.
