Los Angeles County Fire To Hold Wildland Fire Exercises

The LA County Fire Department will be conducting a Wildland Fire Exercise June 8 through June 10 in several wilderness areas.

The LA County Fire Department will be conducting a Wildland Fire Exercise June 8 through June 10 in Higginbotham Park, Sycamore Canyon, and Thompson Creek Trail. The exercise will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

During the scheduled exercise, sections of Higginbotham Park will be unavailable, Sycamore Canyon Trail will be closed, and Thompson Creek Trail will briefly close when necessary. There will be 10-15 fire engines, staff vehicles, and other auxiliary equipment on site which will impact traffic and parking along Mt. Carmel Drive. Prior to the scheduled exercise, no parking signs will be placed in front of Higginbotham Park along Mt. Carmel Drive.
