Claremont 2021 Reforestation Program - Last Call For Trees

The Community Services Department will complete the 2021 Reforestation Program in mid-March.

March 03, 2021

The Community Services Department will complete the 2021 Reforestation Program in mid-March. Those sites where a tree had been removed in the past year automatically received a letter offering a replacement tree. If you are interested in a new tree and have not had a tree removed over the past year years, please contact the Community Services. Staff will evaluate the proposed site to be sure it is a viable planting site. Factors considered when determining a viable site include adequate grow space, any interference with utility lines, sufficient site distance and traffic clearance, as well as maintenance resources, including an adequate and consistent water source. New trees will be planted between March and April 2021 to take advantage of cool weather and winter precipitation. Grant funds are being used to plant City trees in this year’s Reforestation Program. The grants require that the trees are no larger than 15-gallons in size. To request a new street tree, please contact Cari Dillman at (909) 399-5431 or cdillman@ci.claremont.ca.us to have your name placed on the 2021 reforestation list. Residents will be notified by mail if their property has a viable planting site.
