Claremont After Work: Science, Policy & Politics Of Marijuana

Claremont seniors are invited to this After Work discussion on the changes to our world since "Reefer Madness."

CLAREMONT, CA — Okay Claremont seniors. This class is for those over 50 and less than 100, according to the city. If you were ever curious about what has changed with marijuana in today's society.

On Tuesday, October 9, Char Miller, W.M. Keck Professor of Environmental Analysis & History at Pomona College, will discuss issues related to the environmental science, public policy, and politics of marijuana.

He will tackle subjects such as the impact illegal marijuana growers have had on tribal or public lands in California, how legalization could impact this damage, and why and how the nation has changed its attitude to what was once derided as “reefer madness.”

This event takes place at 5:30 p.m. at the Garner House, 840 North Indian Hill Boulevard.

After Work is a series of informational lectures and social mixers, held throughout the community, for persons still in the workforce, new to, or enjoying retirement.
