Claremont City Council Adopts Updated Sustainable City Plan

In 2008, the City Council adopted the Sustainable City Plan (SCP), providing a framework to implement the sustainable community vision that is detailed in the City’s General Plan. The SCP implementation plan calls for periodic updates to the SCP to ensure that it remains relevant and effective. The first update was completed in 2013. The Council-appointed Sustainability Committee began meeting in 2019 to update the plan for the second time. Following a comprehensive public review process, the City Council adopted the updated SCP at its April 13, 2021 meeting. The Sustainability Committee will continue to meet regularly to monitor progress towards achieving the plan’s goals.
