Claremont Collecting Your Unused, Expired Prescription Drugs
The city will once again take part in the DEA's National Take Back Initiative.

The city of Claremont will host a prescription take-back day this month to help get unused prescription drugs off the street.
The next national "prescription drug take back day" is scheduled for Oct. 26, according to an announcement from the city. Claremont will take part and host a local drop-off center for any unused, unwanted or expired medications at the police department on Bonita Avenue, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
"Prescription drugs in the wrong hands can have deadly consequences and drugs flushed down the toilet pollute our water ways," the announcement states. "Do your part by bringing your prescription drugs in their original containers..."
This will be the seventh national take-back day, and will be held at thousands of sites all over the country at the same time. A similar event in April netted approximately 742,497 pounds-- or 371 tons-- of prescription drugs, according to the DEA.
