Since the reinstatement of the Claremont Police Department’s K9 program in 2013, Dodger has found a home at CPD as our first canine member to the K9 program in over a decade. Partnered up with his trusty partner/handler, Corporal Sean Evans, Dodger is a single-purpose canine trained and specialized in narcotics.

Dodger is a British Labrador and is a very important member of the CPD Team as he can smell and detect odors that (human) officers simply cannot when it comes to detecting drugs. This results in illicit items being found in a highly effective and thorough manner, saving an officer’s time. The partnership between Dodger and Corporal Evans is unparalleled, as they have taken on countless DUI checkpoints and drug related crime searches that have led to the apprehension of criminals as well as taking drugs off the streets both regionally and in our Claremont community. Dodger also served as a means to build relationships and trust with our community’s youth.

Dodger has made an enormous impact on the CPD Team and in the Claremont community over the years and along with Corporal Evans, have made a great K9 Team. We wish him a very happy retirement and he will be sorely missed!
