Claremont Farmers Market To Reopen Sunday

The Farmers Market is operated by the Claremont Forum, a non-profit community organization.

The Claremont Forum has announced that the Farmers Market will reopen on Sunday, June 21 after a three month closure due to COVID-19. Regular visitors to the Market will notice several changes, most of which are steps taken to be in compliance with State and County guidelines, including:

Face coverings MUST be worn at all times in the market.

Shoppers are asked to maintain social distancing of at least six feet.

Shoppers will NOT be allowed to handle produce and there will be no food sampling.

There will be two entrances to the Market on the east side and west side of Harvard Avenue at Second Street. To control capacity, shoppers will be asked to wait at the entrances until directed by staff to enter the Market. Visitors are asked to “Shop & Go” to reduce waiting times at entrances.

The number of shoppers admitted at one time will be limited to 75. As shoppers leave, new shoppers may enter.

Shoppers will be encouraged to walk in a counterclockwise flow.

Only fresh and packaged food items will be sold. There will not be arts and crafts booths or entertainment.

New hygiene practices will be in effect, with portable toilets and handwashing stations available.

The Farmers Market is operated by the Claremont Forum, a non-profit community organization. They are committed to helping promote local family farmers and bring quality produce to the community. Proceeds from each market helps to support their service projects, such as the Prison Library Project.
