Armed, Cape-Wearing Robber Hits Up Claremont Gas Station, Flees on Scooter: Police
A man wearing a blanket as a cape robbed a Claremont gas station, flashing a gun as he left, police say.

CLAREMONT, CA — A gun-toting suspect robbed a local Chevron station wearing a blanket-cape, taking only a pair of gloves and fleeing the scene on a scooter, police said Friday.
According to the Claremont Police Department, at just after 2 a.m. Friday, an unknown man entered a Chevron station in the 800 block of Indian Hill Boulevard.
"The suspect stole a pair of gloves and displayed a black handgun as he was leaving," Claremont Police Department Sgt. Hector Tamayo said.

The suspect fled the location riding a black “Buddy” brand scooter according to Tamayo, and then headed eastbound on the I-10 Freeway.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 40-45 years old, 5’10” tall, 200 pounds.

"He was wearing a black motorcycle helmet, a black leather jacket, a black and white blanket attached to his back like a cape, blue jeans, and black and white gloves," Tamayo said.
