Claremont Green Waste Recycling

Following the recent windstorm, many Claremont residents have been clearing fallen debris and find themselves with excess green waste.

November 04, 2020

Following the recent windstorm, many Claremont residents have been clearing fallen debris and find themselves with excess green waste. The City appreciates residents efforts to help perform this necessary clean-up. All green waste that is collected in the City is diverted from landfills and turned into beneficial landscape products, such as mulch and compost. Recycling green waste helps to reduce harmful methane emissions. Methane is a climate-altering greenhouse gas with an impact 70 times greater than carbon dioxide. Recycling yard waste is a simple step all residents can take to reduce air pollution and the harmful impacts of climate change. Please place the following items loosely in your green container: grass, leaves, weeds, chipped wood, twigs and small branches (four inches or less in diameter and two feet or less in length). Fibrous plants with high water content such as palm fronds, cactus, succulents, and ice plant, ivy and bamboo should be placed in the black refuse container. For questions regarding green waste recycling, please contact the Sanitation Division at (909) 399-5431.
