With high temperatures expected this weekend, the City will be offering a Cooling Zone at the Hughes Center. Cooling Zones are places where residents can beat the heat during heat waves.

Cooling Zone information:
Location: Alexander Hughes Community Center, Padua Room (1700 Danbury Road)

Days/Time Open: Friday, August 14 – Sunday, August 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
PVTA is available for transportation
Due to COVID-19, please be mindful that we are requiring all individuals to wear a facial covering at all times while inside the facility, as well as practicing social distancing (requiring six feet between one another) for the safety of all individuals and staff.
Transportation will be available through PVTA to transport individuals to the Alexander Hughes Cooling Center. If participants go to either the Joslyn Center or the Blaisdell Center, they can be transported from those centers to the Alexander Hughes Cooling Center using PVTA. Rides must be scheduled 45-minutes prior to the desired departure time. Call (909) 596-7664 to schedule Cooling Center Transportation.
