Claremont Looking for Ideas, Feedback on City's Tree Policies

The city is hosting three workshops to discuss things like street clearance standards and tree removal.

The following is a news release from the city of Claremont: 

On Thursday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m. the City will host the first of three workshops to solicit community input on the Tree Policy Manual Update. 

The meeting will be held at the Alexander Hughes Community Center in the Padua Room. The following topics will be discussed:

  • Street clearance standards increase from 14' to 16' to accommodate high profile CNG vehicles 
  • Program for liquidambar tree growth regulator (TGR) 
  • Guidelines for requests for tree removal due to solar panels 
  • Species diversification and drought tolerant street tree options 
  • Tree Replacement Policy (manual versus voluntary)

Members of the public are invited to attend this workshop to participate in the discussion.
