Claremont PD Investigates Hate Crime Against Gay Resident

Police are searching for whoever spray painted a slur the garage door of a home.

Claremont Police say they are investigating a hate crime after a homeowner reported finding a slur spray painted on their home’s garage door.

The slur appeared to target a gay resident who rents a room at the home in the 2200 block of Navarro Drive. Police did not disclose what was written.

The offensive language may have been painted on sometime between 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, investigators said.

The culprits used black spray paint to write the homosexual slur across the garage door, police said.
