Claremont Sanitary Sewer System

The third phase of this multi-year capital improvement project will be completed in Spring 2021.

February 25, 2021

The City of Claremont owns and maintains approximately 122 miles of sanitary sewer lines. The Community Services Department is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the City-owned sewer system. The City’s preventative maintenance program includes regular sewer line cleaning using hydrojet and rodding, sewer line and manhole inspections, vermin and rodent control, and pump station maintenance. City staff also respond to any sanitary sewer overflows caused by sewer line blockages. In 2018, the City commissioned a comprehensive condition assessment of the entire system using closed-circuit television recordings. The findings were utilized to develop a 5-year Sewer Rehabilitation Project to address identified deficiencies. The third phase of this multi-year capital improvement project will be completed in Spring 2021. For questions regarding the sanitary sewer system, please contact the Community Services Department at (909) 399-5431.
