Claremont Senior Meal Program Reaches Milestone

The City of Claremont has provided 45,000 meals to older adults age 60+ in our community since March 16, 2020!

This month, we mark the milestone of having served 45,000 lunches served to older adults in our community through our emergency senior meal distribution service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seniors utilizing this program have been able to receive not only well-balanced meals but information regarding programs, classes, and vaccines, as well. Along with keeping older adults informed and connected, staff has enjoyed being able to treat the lunch participants to special touches for the holidays with the help of partnerships with local businesses and organizations. Thank you to our Human Services department staff for cheerfully distributing nutritious meals safely to seniors in our drive-through model and the dedicated volunteers from AgingNext who deliver some of these meals directly to older adults’ homes.
