Claremont: Village South Specific Plan To Be Reviewed By Architectural Commission

On Wednesday February 10, the Architectural Commission will conduct a review of the design and historic preservation components of the Village South Specific Plan (VSSP) and provide advisory comments to staff. This meeting is the second of several public meetings regarding the VSSP and related Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR). Additional meetings will be held before the City’s Planning Commission and City Council for final approval. All comments and recommendations received at this meeting will be provided to the Planning Commission and City Council for their consideration.

The Village South Specific Plan is designed to provide a vision for the redevelopment of 24 acres of land and existing streets located immediately south of the Claremont Village. The draft Specific Plan represents the community vision for redevelopment of this largely underutilized area of the City and includes new zoning, development standards, design guidelines, infrastructure improvements, and steps for implementing the plan.
