The La Verne Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the nominees for its 2021 Excellence in La Verne Business Awards. Through this award program, the Chamber recognizes businesses and individuals that have demonstrated the principles of community service, a positive economic impact, civic leadership and the best traditions of good corporate citizenship in five categories: Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, Family Owed of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, and Employer of the Year.

Recipients will be selected by a committee composed of last year’s recipients: Business of the Year La Verne Brewing Co., New Business of the Year (tie) Mathnasium and Rockstars of Tomorrow, Family-Owned Business of the Year M.K. Stark Co., and Nonprofit of the Year Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity.

The Chamber will also recognize the Ambassador of the Year, which is determined by both a point system for volunteer service and a vote by the Ambassador Committee members. The Ambassadors Committee voted at its December 2020 meeting to rename the award in memory of the Chamber’s former executive director, Brian McNerney, who died unexpectedly in November.
