Cost Of Gas Rising In Claremont

The average price of gasoline is on the rise again across the Southland. How much did you pay to fill up?

CLAREMONT, CA — The cost of a gallon of self-serve gasoline is on the rise again across Orange County, Los Angeles and the southland. The increases began one day after a 37-day streak of decreases totaling 22.7 cents ended when the average price was unchanged.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday for the 13th consecutive day, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.164.

The average price has risen 7.3 cents over the past 13 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3 cents more than one week ago and 32.5 cents higher than one year ago, but 3.6 cents less than one month ago.

The Orange County average price is 4.3 cents more than one week ago and 29.2 cents higher than one year ago, but 1.2 cents less than one month ago. The Orange County price rose for the 13th straight day Thursday, increasing 1 cent to $3.133. It has risen 9.8 cents during the streak, including one-tenth of a cent on Wednesday.

The increases follow a 27-day streak of decreases totaling 15 cents.
