The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was at its lowest amount on Independence Day since 2005 Tuesday, $2.925.
The average price rose one-tenth of a cent on Tuesday, the second increase in three days following a 29-day streak of decreases totaling 14.9 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 1.2 cents less than a week ago, 14 cents lower than one month ago and 5.1 cents below what it was one year ago, which was the lowest price on Independence Day since 2009.
The Orange County average price was at its lowest amount on Independence Day since 2009, $2.894.

The Orange County average price recorded its fourth slight increase in five days following a 24-day streak of dropping prices totaling 15.9 cents, increasing two-tenths of a cent. It also rose by two-tenths of a cent on Friday and Sunday, one-tenth of a cent on Monday and dropped two-tenths of a cent on Saturday.
The Orange County average price is 1 cent less than a week ago, 15.4 cents lower than one month ago and 7 cents below what it was one year ago, which was the lowest price on Independence Day since 2009.
