Gas Prices Drop Slightly In Claremont, La Verne

CLAREMONT, CA — Gas prices across SoCal are falling again. On Thursday, Orange County's average price fell by one-tenth of a cent to $3.587, one day after rising three-tenths of a cent. Even with the drop, the cost of gas is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 64.8 cents higher than one year ago but 3.1 cents less then one month ago.

The cost of a gallon of self-serve unleaded gasoline has risen 47.1 cents since the start of the year.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent Thursday after rising by one-tenth of a cent for three consecutive days and five times in six days.

The average price of $3.643 is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 67.5 cents higher than one year ago but 2.9 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 49.3 cents since the start of the year.

The decrease ends a run of six consecutive increases totaling eight- tenths of a cent.
