Interim La Verne Fire Chief Appointed After Breaux Announces Retirement
John Breaux has been La Verne's fire chief since 2001.

La Verne Fire Chief John Breaux will step down from his position after 12 years leading the fire department, accouncing he will retire on June 28.
Battalion Chief Pete Jankowski will take over as interim fire chief. Jankowski has worked in La Verne for 13 years as part of his 24-year career as an emergency services worker.
Mayor Don Kendrick vetted Jankowski, telling The La Verne Community News that he's "hopeful that this will turn into a permanent appointment when the time is appropriate."
