Mt. SAC, a junior college, serves about 20 San Gabriel Valley communities including La Verne. Established in 1946, the school is the largest single-campus community college in California, offering more than 200 academic degree and vocational certificate programs in areas ranging from the arts to business to social sciences to technology. The college's student enrollment is about 60,000, of whom some 35,000 are full-time.

Candidate Robert Carder, a Southern California native, graduated from La Serna High School in Whittier. He was unable to attend college, he says, due to economics at the time. He is married to La Verne City Councilmember Robin Carder, which he says has allowed him to participate in a myriad of local functions and network with local cities. Click here for more information.
