La Verne City Hall To Close To The Public Until March 31 Due To COVID-19
The proclamation of a local emergency does not signify an increased risk to the residents of La Verne.
The City of La Verne officially proclaimed a local state of emergency yesterday, March 16, 2020, in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) public health crisis. The proclamation of a local emergency does not signify an increased risk to the residents of La Verne. It does, however, position the city to provide or receive mutual aid from other jurisdictions and assists in securing available resources, funding, and staffing. La Verne also took steps to close all non-essential facilities in an effort to reduce community exposure to the novel coronavirus.
City hall will be closed to the public effective Wednesday, March 18 and is expected to remain so through Tuesday, March 31. Essential city services will continue though, including police, fire, ambulance, garbage, recycling, water, wastewater, planning, inspection, and permitting services. During this period, residents are asked to use the city’s online services portals at cityoflaverne.org whenever possible. Staff members will also be available Monday through Thursday during regular business hours to receive calls and respond to service requests. Please contact 909-596-8726 to be directed to the appropriate department.
