Full Street Closure of Fulton Road at Railroad Crossing in La Verne/Pomona (Jan. 18-Apr. 9)

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
Crews will be fully rebuilding the railroad crossing on Fulton Rd. in the cities of La Verne/Pomona, as part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project. This work requires a full closure of Fulton Rd. at the railroad crossing for approximately 3 months, including the temporary closure of the Metrolink Station parking entrance.

WHEN
Monday, January 18th and continuing daily thru April 9th, Fulton Rd. will be fully closed to all traffic (vehicular and pedestrian) at the railroad crossing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Arrow Hwy (south of the crossing) and Bonita Ave. (north of the crossing) will remain open and accessible by way of detour routes, see map below.

  • Crews plan to work daily during double shift hours of 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM. Overnight work and Sunday shifts may also be required.

TRAFFIC ADVISORIES

  • Fulton Rd. will be fully closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the railroad crossing.
  • Access to homes, businesses, and churches on Fulton Rd. within the closure area north and south of the railroad crossing will be maintained at all times, as well as access to 1st St., Roosevelt St., & Brandt St.
  • The Metrolink Station parking entrance on Fulton Rd. will be closed temporarily.

PLAN YOUR ROUTE AND BE PREPARED
A detour route (see map below) will be in place during the closure and signage will be posted to direct motorists and pedestrians as well as Metrolink customers. Please follow detour signs.

  • Fulton Rd. will be fully closed to all traffic at the railroad crossing between Arrow Hwy and Bonita Ave.
  • The entrance to the Metrolink Station parking lot will be closed during the street closure (access to the parking lot will remain open from Garey Ave. to Santa Fe St.)
  • Garey Ave. (northbound and southbound) will serve as the main detour route, see details below.
  • Arrow Hwy (eastbound and westbound) will remain open to all traffic.
  • Bonita Ave. (eastbound and westbound) will remain open to all traffic.

Noise from construction equipment will be produced near the active work zones.

Extended: Full Street Closure of Glendora Ave. at RailroadCrossing in Glendora (Ongoing Through Feb. 19)

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
Crews will continue reconstructing the railroad crossing on Glendora Ave. as part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project. This work requires the extension of the closure to continue performing underground utility work, median construction, new track installation, roadway paving, and new curb & gutter.

WHEN
Ongoing and continuing thru February 19, 2021 (extended), Glendora Ave. will be fully closed to all traffic (vehicular and pedestrian) at the railroad crossing 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Ada Ave. (just north of the crossing) and Route 66 (south of the crossing) will remain open and accessible by way of detour routes, see map below.

  • UPDATED work hours, including double shifts from 7:00 AM - 12:00 AM, Monday - Saturday, have been approved. NOTE: Occasional longer work hours, construction on Sundays, and night work may be performed during the closure period.

TRAFFIC ADVISORIES

  • Glendora Ave. will be fully closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the railroad crossing.
  • Access will be available to local homes and businesses on Glendora Ave., within the closure area north and south of the railroad crossing.

  • Vermont Ave. (northbound and southbound) will remain open and serve as the main detour route.
  • Ada Ave. (eastbound and westbound) will remain open.

A truck detour route (see map below) will be in place during the closure and signage will be posted to direct all large trucks. Please follow detour signs.

  • Grand Ave. (northbound and southbound) will serve as the main truck detour route, see details below.

New Start Date: Permanent Street Closure of Glenwood Ave. at Railroad Crossing in Glendora (Beginning Jan. 26)

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
Crews will be permanently closing Glenwood Ave. and creating cul-de-sacs on both sides of the railroad crossing in the city of Glendora, as part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project. Construction crews will rebuild the existing roadway and add new curb, gutters, fencing, and soundwalls. The permanent closure is required by the California Public Utilities Commission to improve safety along the corridor. Following the permanent closures, crews will continue to build the project within the railroad corridor.

WHEN
Starting January 26, 2021, Glenwood Ave. will be permanently closed to all traffic (vehicular and pedestrian) at the railroad crossing. Work will continue within the railroad corridor at Glenwood Ave.

  • Crews will work daily 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday thru Saturday. NOTE: Occasional longer working hours may be needed (per the city’s municipal code, which allows working hours: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM, 7 days a week).

  • Glenwood Ave. will be fully and permanently closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the railroad crossing north of Route 66 and south of Lemon Ave.
  • Access to homes and businesses on Glenwood Ave. north and south of the railroad crossing will be maintained during construction.
