LA VERNE, CA - A house fire spread to some brush in an unincorporated area near La Verne on Thursday, but the flames were knocked down and no injuries were reported.The fire broke out about 5:45 p.m. in the 6300 block of Stephens Ranch Road near Camp Afflerbaugh-Paige High School, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.County fire crews backed by water-dropping helicopters responded along with firefighters from the La Verne Fire Department and the blaze was knocked down in 58 minutes, authorities said.About 50 square feet of brush was scorched.--City News Service, photo via Shutterstock
