La Verne Residents Share Brushfire Stories: Tuesday Mop Up
La Verne residents post fire photos & videos on social media. Firefighters mop up the slow moving brush fire in the La Verne area, Tuesday.

LA VERNE, CA — On Tuesday, area firefighters continued to mop up the remains of a slow-moving brushfire that charred about 40 acres of brush and injured three firefighters in the La Verne area over the weekend. Meanwhile, on social media, residents and neighbors shared the smoke clouds with each other over Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The #Rodeofire, which burned through medium brush, was reported about 3:10 p.m. Sunday, said Los Angeles County fire Capt. Ron Singleton. By nightfall Sunday, firefighters had stopped the progress of the blaze and halted airdrops, said county fire Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett.
Three firefighters -- two from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and one from La Verne -- suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze and were taken to hospitals for treatment.
