Los Angeles Sheriff's Department personnel rescue lost hikers

Sunday, 5/8/16. Two hikers with three dogs got lost in the dark in the Sunset Peak area just below Mount Baldy. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department (LASD) San Dimas Search and Rescue Team responded and found them in the early morning hours. However, because of their precarious position they were unable to walk them out. LASD Air Rescue 5 flew into the area and deployed Special Enforcement Bureau Tactical Medics to assist. The two hikers and three dogs were hoisted into Air Rescue 5, medically assessed and flown to safety.
