Man Takes His Own Life on La Verne PD's Parking Lot

A Glendale man who worked in La Verne apparently took his own life in the parking lot of the La Verne Police Department on Monday, authorities said.

Officers say they found 59-year-old Michael Hickson at 6:50 p.m. in his vehicle parked near the station at 2061 3rd St . He had a gunshot wound to the chest, officials said.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin is reporting that Hickson worked at the Metropolitan Water District F.E. Weymouth Treatment Plant in La Verne.

Paramedics tried unsuccessfully to revive Hickson, officials said. The Los Angeles County coroners is also conducting an own investigation.
