McKinley's Grille

Now that the weather is getting warmer, eating lunch outside is a treat.  At McKinley’s Grille at Sheraton Fairplex, I could easily spend all day outside with a never ending supply of their Bloody Marys. The patio atmosphere is equally enjoyable as a leisurely weekend lunch with the family or for a business lunch. The friendly waitstaff is accommodating and takes pride in their service, a relief from my experience at another local establishment, where the waiter made me feel as though I was bothering him just by asking for a refill. Sit back under the shade of a tree and order a spicy Bloody Mary or libation off their award winning wine list. You can easily forget your location while enjoying the enclosed space. Though McKinley’s New American style menu changes seasonly to showcase featured ingredients, several items are on permanent rotation, including McKinley’s Burger. The wonderfully juicy burger is 1/2 pound and comes topped with fresh lettuce, Bermuda onions, and tomato on a brioche bun. Request a side of sweet potato fries or beer battered onion rings for a diet splurge.  Their fish and chips is a classic and enjoyable to eat. The dish is lightly battered and fried without being greasy. The fresh fish is lightly battered so the fish's delicate flavor is not overwhelmed. If you don't have much of an appetite, you can also make a meal by ordering several of their appetizers, including their crispy calamari and crab cakes, to share. Before going back to the outside world, if you manage to have any room left, be sure to order local favorite, Dr. Bob’s Handcrafted Tahitian Vanilla ice cream.
