Memories Matter Walk-A-Thon

University of La Verne Students raising awareness of Dementia and Alzheimer's by hosting a Walk-A-Ton at Hillcrest Retirement Community

La Verne Califonia-Help Hillcrest Retirement Community residents coping with dementia and Alzheimer’s by donating your old iPods and by participating in an awareness-raising walk on Mary 7th at Hillcrest Homes. Enjoy a morning of good music, good food, and good company for a great cause.

The Music & Memory Program is an important, unfamiliar program put on by our local assisted living home, Hillcest. The point of this program is to use music as a memory-assistance. Residents living with these diseases listen to music on donated iPods, and the reactions are heart-warming.

Myranda Garcia and Caitlin Pallotta, along with the help of Ryan Harrison and Loida Arriaga, will be hosting the Memories Matter Walk-A-Thon. We created this event because Hillcrest holds a very special place in our hearts and what better way to raise awareness than to host an event for this community for our senior project. There will be live entertainment, food, and prizes!

This program thrives on iPod donations and isn’t possible without your support. We would love your help with donations and attendance at our walk to bring more awareness to this program. Any iPod and money donations will be accepted at the walk.

The walk will take place at Hillcrest, which is located at 2705 Mountain View Dr., La Verne on Saturday, May 7th.
